Commercial offer

Rotary shaft seals

We select seals for rotating shafts, gearboxes, pumps, drives and machine assemblies. We consider shaft and housing bore diameter, rotational speed, shaft runout, the medium, lubrication and the presence of dust, water or other contaminants.

Data needed for inquiry

If you do not have complete data, send a photo of the part, groove dimensions or operating conditions. We will help determine the missing parameters.

  1. shaft diameter, housing bore diameter and seal width
  2. working medium, temperature and lubrication method
  3. rotational speed, direction of rotation and information on shaft runout
  4. photo of the old seal, marking from the housing or catalogue number
  5. description of the operating environment: dust, water, mud, chips, pressure or vacuum

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What data is needed to select a rotating shaft seal?

Required data: shaft, bore and seal width dimensions; the medium; temperature; rotational speed; direction of rotation; information on contamination; and the lubrication method.

How does a radial shaft seal differ from a V-ring?

A radial shaft seal works in the housing bore and seals against the shaft surface. A V-ring is an axial, flexible seal that typically protects against dust, water and contaminants.

When should FKM be used instead of NBR?

Use FKM for higher temperatures, more aggressive media (including certain fuels and chemicals) or where standard NBR wears too quickly.

Why does a shaft seal leak quickly?

Common causes: worn shaft surface, shaft runout, wrong material selection, excessive temperature, overpressure, contamination, incorrect installation or improper choice of sealing lip.
