CNC Machining of Engineering Plastics

We manufacture components from engineering plastics for machines, maintenance, production and repairs. We work from drawings, samples, a damaged part or specified dimensions, selecting material for load, friction, temperature and the working environment.

01

Parts in POM-C, PA6, PA6G, PE-UHMW, PTFE, PEEK, PU and other technical plastics.

02

Single-piece production, short runs and reproduction of spare parts for machines.

03

Support in material selection for load, friction, lubrication, moisture and temperature.

Typical components

  • bushings, guides, rollers, slides, spacers and rings
  • plates, strips, inserts, support elements and wear parts
  • spare parts for machines, production lines and internal transport
  • plastic parts for use in contact with metal, water, oil or product

Material selection criteria

  • mechanical load, surface pressure and wear resistance
  • friction conditions, lubrication, dry running and movement speed
  • temperature, humidity, contact with chemicals, oil or water
  • required dimensional stability, stiffness, flexibility or insulation

When to choose CNC machining

  • when a part must be produced quickly without the cost of molds or tooling
  • when a spare part is needed that is not available as a catalog product
  • when a prototype or short run must meet specific dimensions and tolerances
  • when the design requires a material that is lighter, quieter or less aggressive to mating parts than metal

Materials

Material selection for medium and temperature

POM-C

dimensionally stable technical parts, bushings, guides and precision components

PA6 / PA6G

good mechanical strength, wear resistance and suitable for structural applications

PE-UHMW

low coefficient of friction, high abrasion resistance and slides for conveying

PTFE

very low friction, chemical resistance and operation across a wide temperature range

PEEK

for demanding temperature, mechanical and chemical requirements

PU

elastic components resistant to loads, abrasion, impacts and dynamic operation

Technical selection

Data needed for inquiry

If you do not have complete data, send a photo of the part, groove dimensions or operating conditions. We will help determine the missing parameters.

  1. technical drawing, DXF/STEP file, photo or sample of the part
  2. material specified by the designer or a description of operating conditions for material selection
  3. dimensions, tolerances, quantity and assembly information
  4. load, friction, temperature, humidity, chemicals and contact with oil or water
  5. information whether the part operates as a slide, bushing, roller, guide, spacer or spare part

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which engineering plastics can be machined by CNC?

Most commonly POM-C, PA6, PA6G, PE-UHMW, PTFE, PEEK, PU and other technical plastics are machined. Selection depends on load, friction, temperature, chemicals and required dimensional stability.

Can a plastic part be made without a technical drawing?

Yes — in many cases a sample, photo and basic dimensions are sufficient. For precision parts it's best to provide a technical drawing or a model file.

When is an engineering plastic better than metal?

Plastics are worth considering when lower weight, quieter operation, reduced friction, corrosion resistance or protection of mating parts from scratching and wear are important.

What data is needed to quote a CNC plastic part?

Required information includes dimensions, material or operating conditions, quantity, expected tolerances, assembly method and details about load, friction, temperature and contact with the medium.
