Commercial offer

Mechanical seals

We select mechanical seals for pumps, mixers, valves and shafted equipment. We analyze the medium, speed, temperature, pressure, shaft diameter, chamber construction and installation conditions to choose a solution suited to the actual operating conditions of the equipment.

01

Seal selection based on medium, speed, temperature and equipment construction.

02

Support for replacements, failures, leaks and operational issues.

03

Solutions for pumps, mixers, valves, maintenance and service.

Scope of selection

  • single and double seals for pumps and mixers
  • solutions for handling liquids, slurries and process media
  • replacements for common industrial designs
  • selection of friction pairs, elastomers and metal components

Analyzed conditions

  • type of medium, concentration, temperature and pressure
  • rotational speed, shaft diameter and direction of rotation
  • installation method, chamber length and available mounting space
  • lubrication, cooling, contamination and intermittent operation conditions

Materials

Material selection for medium and temperature

Ceramic / graphite

standard friction pairs for many industrial applications

SiC / SiC

higher resistance to wear, slurries and more demanding media

FKM / EPDM

elastomers selected for temperature, medium and chemical resistance

Stainless steel

metal components for environments requiring corrosion resistance

Data needed for inquiry

If you do not have complete data, send a photo of the part, groove dimensions or operating conditions. We will help determine the missing parameters.

  1. type of pump, mixer or equipment and shaft diameter
  2. working medium, temperature, pressure and presence of contaminants
  3. rotational speed, direction of rotation and lubrication method
  4. chamber dimensions, photo of the old seal or manufacturer marking
  5. description of failure symptoms: leak, overheating, rapid wear or dry running

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What data is needed to select a mechanical seal?

The most important are the type of equipment, shaft diameter, medium, temperature, pressure, rotational speed, installation method and a photo or marking of the existing seal.

How do ceramic/graphite and SiC/SiC friction pairs differ?

Ceramic/graphite performs well in many standard applications. SiC/SiC is used for higher loads, abrasion, slurries and more demanding process media.

Can a replacement mechanical seal be selected?

Yes. To select a replacement, dimensions, photos, manufacturer marking or equipment data are required. It is also important to confirm the medium and operating conditions, since dimensions alone are not always sufficient.

Why does a mechanical seal wear out quickly?

Causes can include dry running, incorrect friction pair, contaminated medium, excessive temperature, improper installation, shaft run-out or lack of adequate cooling or lubrication.
